3.0 out of 5 stars Misleading Product Title "Aquamira Technologies Water Treatment DROPS" -- Same Chemical, no droppers, May 22, 2015

I have used Aquamira Treatment DROPS before, in the 1 ounce package. Beware that the Amazon title for these says DROPS, but there is no dropper. The size of drop you get will be dependent on the dropper that you use, so I wouldn't trust the drop instructions, unless you have and are refilling Aquamira dropper bottles.

I am still able to use the product by carrying a 1/8 tsp with me. This version of the product works better for treating large volumes of water. If you want to treat a quart at a time, you should get the dropper bottles instead.

4.0 out of 5 stars This product tastes like, well, January 4, 2017

The product itself is very effective (I reviewed the literature). I used to use iodine tabs (followed by ascorbic acid tabs to get rid of the iodine taste). This product tastes like, well, tap water. I also have a classic backpacker's water filter but as I've tended more toward ultralight back country travel I fine this product to be superb for light carry travel.
I also climb mountains frequently in the Philippines. While there I FILTER the water, then add this product for a little extra reassurance.

I did not give five stars - only as I wish they added the conical droplet dispenser they include on the smaller volume product. The company created this for use in large volume usage whereas I bought it hoping to get a cheaper (by volume) version I could still use for my 1 liter hiking water bottles.

We trust our health to Aquamira when we go hiking and drink whatever water we come across. I also have sent this to Haiti and Sudan with a family member doing relief work. Standing brown water, dead rats, suspicious pipes, water with people/animals crossing, etc. No one has gotten sick yet. Easier on your body than straight bleach, still does the job.

Be careful with the 1 oz dropper bottles, the caps can come out if you don't pay attention, then you're out of luck until you get to town for more.
